Keep in mind that a side discharge rotary mower leaves windrow like deposits of clippings that smother healthy grass in specific rows while mulching mowers push clippings down into healthy turf with tremendous force also potentially smothering grass. A reel mower deposits clippings in a very uniform, almost raindrop like pattern that will not mat and will not smother turf, and if your grass does need to be mowed when wet, what better way to do it than with a reel mower that allows clippings to fall to the surface naturally and uniformly?
